  • Kuvaus: The honest and meticulous cashier, Savvas, works in a business and is often pressured by his wife’s siblings to embezzle money from his job and lend it to them “temporarily”. One of the brothers, Kokos, wants to go into business for himself, and his sister Eleni wants to get married. His manager, leaving on a trip, entrusts him with a million drachmas without a receipt. Savvas succumbs to the pressure and gives a tenth of the money to Kokos, who then falls victim to deceit and loses all the money. Fortunately, however, the arrival of his brother Bampis, who was away in America for many years, gets him off the hook. Bampis makes up the money that was lost due to Kokos’ naivete, and acts as a match-maker between Eleni and his partner’s nephew, Dimitris, who has come to Greece with him to find a spouse. In the end, however, an unexpected development awaits Savvas, since his manager is killed in an airplane crash. Faithful to his honest nature, he hands over the million to the legal heir.
